Hi! My name is Gene and I welcome you to peruse some of my ramblings found on this site. I have had blog sites in the past but I didn’t necessarily have a passion or time to update them as needed. As I have changed so much over the past five years, I thought about redesigning them and revamping them to reflect where I am now in life, but “it is easier to birth a baby than to resurrect the dead” so the old sites got canned and this is the reloaded version that I hope will reflect me and where I am now.
I am a Christ-follower. I am a father of two wonderful children, and a husband to a beautiful wife of 13 years. I am originally from Wilmington, NC, was a surfer, and a scholar from New Hanover High School. I continued my education at Lee University and have a B.A. in Communication Studies and a B.S. in Biological Sciences. My career choices and interests have ranged from freelance videographer, web designer, audio producer, event producer, musician, worship leader, biotech and/or pharma teamplayer, and moreover, a critical thinker. I chase truth and I chase renewal. I am a self proclaimed “Renaissance Man” to some degree and I keep chasing something that I believe is an enlightment of sorts, but keeps changing as my life and intellect change as well. I have learned to be still and just be, while at the same time grow and learn and get better. I continually look for a state of enlightment where intellect and creativity collide and find myself “Chasing the Renaissance.”
