Monday Morning Thoughts

  • Frederick’s Kris Kringle Procession (parade) was lots of fun, although it was incredibly cold. I’m not sure exactly how many blocks the parade went, but we waited in the cold for about an hour and then walked for another 40 minutes. Ian handled it like a champ though and was pretty happy the majority of the time.
I think a lot of the groups could probably step it up a notch in presentation next year, including our Cub Scout Troop. Yeah, I kind of signed myself up for that one. Couldn’t keep my mouth shut. Always trying to improve things.
  • It is extremely cold and although I would love a White Christmas, I am finding myself longing for the spring several times during the day.
  • Did you know that Americans spend 450 billion dollars every year during Christmas? Did you know that it is also estimated that it would cost 10 billion dollars to solve the problem of providing clean water for everyone on the planet? You do the math. • I was able to catch the latest in Newspring’s Beautiful series earlier today. Stephen Furtick did an excellent teaching on The Perception Principle and really drilled down into seeing ourselves how we were destined to be seen or perceived. “What you see is what you get”, so change what you see, or perceive, and catalyze the potential to change. He also spoke on how Perry mentored him when he was a “nobody”. Mentoring is so important for growth. We have to raise up leaders and stop being threatened by the people with great potential to lead, but who don’t realize that potential as of yet.
  • Different topic, but some similar thoughts were part of Ken Kendall’s teachings yesterday. We were giving a gift on the original Christmas that will allow us to rise to our full potential.

“If you could change, you would, but you can’t change so you won’t….without the gift that has been given to you.”

You are significant and you need to perceive that and walk into your destiny. To live life to the full…

  • Saw my doc today post-MRI results. He gave me a rather painful steroid injection into my back. Hopefully, some pain will be alleviated soon. I really want to be able to bring it for the Holidays.
